Little Book Chapter 4 Lessons Honored Blended Whiskey
Little Book Chapter 4 Lessons Honored Blended Whiskey is Freddie Noe’s 2020 chapter, built to honor his father Fred with three uncut Kentucky liquids bottled at 122.8 proof. The base is 4-year brown-rice bourbon — starch-soft grain that drinks older than its age. An 8-year high-rye rye, about 65 percent rye on the Booker’s Rye mashbill, adds sweetness and lingering spice. A 7-year Kentucky straight bourbon, the lot Fred picked in a blind tasting, rounds it with caramel and oak. Make it the after-dinner dram.
Brown sugar and dried cherry stand out on the palate, with vanilla, cereal grain, and charred wood behind them. Cinnamon and baking spice run hot through the sip. The finish is decadent and dry: warm caramel, then red-pepper spice that lingers.
