Sam Houston Small Batch Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Sam Houston Small Batch Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Sam Houston Small Batch Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is Western Spirits’ numbered Bardstown small batch, blended from a handful of barrels and bottled at 108 proof — a nod to Sam Houston’s age when he sat in the Senate. High-rye Kentucky mash (74% corn, 18% rye, 8% malted barley), #4-char new American oak, and a short, state-coded dump give caramel and toasted grain more char and spice than a standard-proof mixer. Pour it when the weather turns cold.
Oak, leather, and caramel open onto dark fruit. Toasted grain and light vanilla fill a firm sip, then wood char and baking spice take over. Honey warmth holds a medium finish that stays sturdy at 108 proof.
