Heaven’s Door Bootleg Series Volume II 15 Year Old Rum Cask Finished Bourbon Whiskey is the 2020 Bootleg Series: fifteen-year Tennessee whiskey, charcoal-mellowed before the barrel, then finished in Jamaican pot-still rum casks that had held rum for thirty years. Limited ceramic release — Dylan's Sunset, Monument Valley, in a numbered leather journal — bottled at cask strength, 104.6 proof. Those old rum casks are why maple, coconut, and holiday spice ride the mature whiskey. It holds a large cube.
Maple syrup and molasses lead, with toasted coconut, vanilla, and brown sugar. The palate is thick and velvety: dried apricot, sandalwood, caramel. Toasted oak and holiday spice close a long, sweet finish.
