Bruichladdich Port Charlotte Scottish Barley Single Malt Scotch Whisky is Bruichladdich’s heavily peated single malt, malted to 40 ppm and bottled at 100 proof. Scottish-grown barley is trickle-distilled in tall, narrow-necked stills and matured on Islay in American oak with a smaller share of European oak. At 40 ppm the kiln smoke is the point, and it still leaves room for vanilla and lemon. It is non-chill-filtered, with no color added.
Lemon, black pepper, and sea salt cut through the peat smoke and vanilla, with sweet barley still in the glass. The mouthfeel is oily, and the finish stays warm and smoky.
