Arroqueño agave, roasted in an earthen pit and distilled by hand in Oaxaca. That underground fire is where mezcal picks up its smoke, and here it stays in the background rather than taking over — a warm, earthy thread running under everything else.
The first impression is floral, closer to agave blossom than to anything sweet. Tropical fruit follows, soft and a little juicy, with citrus cutting through to keep it lively. Underneath sits a dry mineral streak and a green herbal edge that lingers after the fruit fades. Arroqueño tends to drink broad and generous, and this one does.
Additive free, so what you taste is the agave and the fire and nothing added afterward. Room temperature suits it best, in a small pour with time to open. 750 mL.
