The mash is 95% rye and 5% malted barley. It is at least 4 years old and spent at least 6 months in Caribbean rum casks. The sources do not agree whether that finish sits inside those years or after them. The rum wood lays molasses and a ripe sweetness over the pepper, so the grain stays spicy and the cask makes the pour richer.
Molasses, vanilla, and butterscotch sit on black pepper and toasted oak, with a ripe tropical sweetness from the rum casks. The mouthfeel is silky. The finish is long, still sweet, and still peppery.
