Vanilla and caramel open this Kentucky bourbon with familiar sweetness. After 13 years in new charred American oak, mature oak and baking spice shape a firm, warming finish. This 25th Anniversary release was distilled in 2017, giving the whiskey a long maturation and an oak-forward close.
At 121.7 proof (60.9% ABV), it is bottled at cask strength, without reduction from barrel proof. As a single-barrel release, the whiskey comes from one cask rather than a mingling of multiple barrels. The 750 mL bottle can be poured neat for full intensity or over a large cube to soften the proof and sweetness.
