Knob Creek Bourbon Whiskey 100 Proof is Booker Noe's original 1992 small-batch bourbon: at least nine years in new #4-char American oak, bottled at 100 proof, in a 1.75 L bottle. That barrel time and full proof are why brown sugar, vanilla, and charred oak read so clearly. Keep it for a weeknight pour.
Vanilla, caramel, and brown sugar lead a full, familiar sip, with toasted nuts and a little maple in the middle. Charred oak and rye spice stand out toward the close. The finish is long and warm: oak, brown sugar, and a pinch of black pepper.
