Old Forester Birthday Bourbon 2019 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is the limited 19th Birthday Bourbon: 120 barrels distilled May 15, 2008, aged 11 years on the second floor of warehouse I, and bottled at 105 proof. Master Distiller Chris Morris and Master Taster Jackie Zykan chose that lot for its spice and dessert character. The mash is 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley. Save it for cold weather.
Butterscotch, toffee, and cornbread lead, then blackcurrant, maple, and caramel cake. Rich oak spice and white florals stand out on the palate in a chewy, dessert-like body. The finish runs long on peppermint tea, honey, and Szechuan peppercorn heat.
