Old Grand-Dad 114 Single Barrel 7 Year Old Bourbon Whiskey is Beam’s high-rye Hayden recipe—about 63% corn, 27% rye, and 10% malted barley—taken from one Clermont barrel after seven years and bottled at 114 proof (57% ABV). Extra rye is why cinnamon and dried fruit ride beside the caramel, and each lot is its own cask. Use it in a spirit-forward cocktail that can take that proof.
Caramel and brown sugar open first, then cinnamon and dried fruit. Sweet vanilla and seasoned oak stand out on the palate; the body is medium-full, and the finish is warm, nutty, and spiced.
