Peacekeeper Bourbon Whiskey

This is a bourbon that does its best work without much fuss. Neat over a single cube, caramel and vanilla come through sweet and clear, the kind of easy sweetness that makes a bourbon simple to pour on a weeknight. Dark cherry sits underneath, a little tart against all that sugar, and baking spice keeps the whole thing from turning soft.

Toasted grain and oak carry the close, dry enough to leave the mouth clean. That comes from new charred American oak, which is what gives Kentucky bourbon its color and much of its backbone. Nothing here is fussy or hard to read.

It mixes well, too. An Old Fashioned or a highball will keep the cherry and spice intact rather than burying them. The 750 mL bottle is the everyday size, and this is very much an everyday bourbon.
