Bardstown Bourbon Company's Collaborative Series turns a ten-year Tennessee bourbon over to a plantation rum barrel for its finishing stretch, and the result drinks like tropical fruit poured over dessert. Caramel and vanilla set the tone, thick and sweet without turning sticky. Underneath sits ripe banana and a bright streak of pineapple that keeps the sweetness moving rather than settling.
The rum influence shows up as molasses, dark and a little earthy, running beneath the fruit. Baking spice arrives late and brings the oak with it, closing things off dry after all that sugar. At 104 proof (52% ABV) there is real weight here, enough that the finish lingers well past the sip.
Distilled in 2022 and bottled at 750 mL, this is a bourbon that rewards being poured neat, though a single large cube opens the fruit further without dulling the spice. Good company for an unhurried evening.
