Kentucky bourbon, fifteen years in new charred American oak, bottled at 105 proof. That much time in the barrel does most of the work here: the whiskey pours dark and drinks thick, with caramel and vanilla sitting close together at the front.
Dark fruit follows, closer to fig and stewed plum than anything bright. Underneath it there's tobacco leaf and the dry, mature oak you'd expect from a bourbon of this age, plus a run of baking spice that keeps the sweetness in check. The 52.5% ABV shows up as warmth rather than heat, so it holds together neat and takes ice without falling apart.
This is a straightforward, well-aged pour rather than anything fussy. Long barrel time gives it plenty of weight for sipping slowly after dinner, and the 750 mL bottle is the standard size for the shelf at home.
