Gold Spot spent nine years in bourbon, sherry, Bordeaux wine and Port casks, and the result is a single pot still whiskey that leans sweet and orchard-fresh without losing its grip. Apple and honey sit together up front, bright and easy, with tropical fruit lifting behind them.
At 102.8 proof there is real weight here. Vanilla softens the edges while baking spice and oak firm up the back end, keeping the sweetness from running away. Dried fruit runs underneath the whole thing, a darker seam from the fortified casks.
This is County Cork pot still whiskey doing what it does best: creamy texture, plenty of fruit, and enough proof to stand up in a highball or an Irish coffee if that is where you want to take it. The 750 mL bottle carries the anniversary release from spirit distilled in 2022.
