Heaven Hill Distillery 90th Anniversary 9 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a limited 107-proof blend bottled for ninety years of independent Shapira family ownership in Bardstown. All 204 barrels were filled on December 13, 2015 — the distillery's 80th anniversary — and aged nine years and eight months in Rickhouses G and H. Seventy percent is traditional-char bourbon; thirty percent spent that time in heavy alligator char, which deepens caramel, toasted spice, and oak warmth. The mash is Heaven Hill's house recipe, 78 percent corn, 12 percent malted barley, and 10 percent rye, bottled without chill filtration. Share it sipping with friends.
Burnt caramel and vanilla lead, with cherry cola, Concord grape, and baked apple on a creamy body. Toasted spice, cocoa, and charred oak keep the sweetness from turning heavy. The finish is long and warming: cream soda, maple, black pepper, and sweet barrel char.
