Same 52 percent corn, 35 percent rye, and 13 percent malt mash and Beck's 6225 seed as the traditional bourbon, distilled at Bernheim in 2018, then fully aged seven years in Missouri-grown Chinquapin oak chosen with Independent Stave Company. That oak runs higher in vanillin than ordinary white oak, so the seven years read as honeyed caramel, toasted nut, and fruit instead of a simple char note. Bottled at 105 proof without chill filtration, after a 107-proof barrel entry. Drink it over a single cube.
Toasted oak and roasted pecan open with cedar and a wisp of barrel char. Honeyed caramel, ripe red fruit, and orange peel fill a viscous sip. The finish lingers on golden honey, then turns to spiced oak and white pepper.
