Pinhook 2019 Vertical Series Bourbon War 4 Year is the inaugural gold-wax pour from a 1,350-barrel MGP lot Pinhook is following from four to twelve years: 75% corn, 20.5% rye, and 4.5% malted barley, blended and bottled at 98 proof (49% ABV) so tropical fruit and butterscotch stay bright. Dedicated to the colt Bourbon War. A bottle for sipping with friends.
Tropical fruit and butterscotch lead, with cedar and banana underneath. Dried fig, cocoa, and roasted peanut stand out on the palate, then clove; the body is medium, and the finish is vanilla, candied fruit, and a little white pepper.
