Extra añejo is the patient end of tequila, and five years in American white oak have taken this one a long way from where it started. Blue Weber agave from Los Altos, Jalisco gives it a sweetness that survives the wood: cooked agave still sits at the center, ringed by dried fruit and cocoa.
At 76 proof (38% ABV), the texture is soft and rounded rather than hot, which makes it easy to sip slowly. Vanilla runs through the palate, and a dusting of cinnamon and oak trails the finish. Nothing has been added to soften or sweeten it — this is additive free, so what you taste came from the agave and the barrel.
