Aberlour Casg Annamh drinks well neat, with a broad fruit profile and a warm line of spice. Orange and glazed cherry bring a sweet, vivid opening, while ginger adds a sharper edge. Cinnamon and licorice linger on the finish, keeping the whisky from turning overly sweet.
This single malt Scotch comes from Speyside and is matured in Oloroso sherry-seasoned oak. At 96 proof (48% ABV), it has enough strength to stand up to a large cube while remaining approachable on its own. The balance of ripe fruit, warming spice, and a gently bittersweet finish makes it an easy bottle to return to without demanding too much thought. It comes in a 750 mL size.
