This is a bold, briny Islay single malt. The 2021 Committee Release matured in ex-rye casks, bringing an unusual cask choice to Ardbeg’s peat-led style. Bottled at cask strength, it carries its smoke and spice with plenty of intensity.
Peat smoke and brine set the tone, while banana adds a softer, fruit-driven contrast. Pepper gives the whisky a sharper edge before smoked toffee settles into the finish. At 103.6 proof (51.8% ABV), it has the structure to stand up to a small splash of water.
