Baker’s 13 Year Old Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Baker’s 13 Year Old Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey comes from the Jim Beam distillery as a limited single barrel, aged at least 13 years and bottled at 107 proof. It carries Baker Beam’s name and the Baker’s mashbill of 77% corn, 13% rye, and 10% malted barley, filled into new charred oak and left long enough that time in the rickhouse shows. The nuttiness and vanilla get deeper, and the oak turns from sweet wood into a drier frame around the fruit.
Fruit, vanilla, and caramel come first, then oak and toasted nuts through a medium body. Reviewers keep finding peanut brittle, pecan, baked apple, and brown sugar, with cinnamon on the close and tobacco on some barrels. The finish stays warm and rounded, and it runs medium-long.
