Tennessee bourbon rarely gets to sit this long. Seventeen years in new charred American oak have pulled this whiskey deep into its barrel, and because it comes from a single cask at full strength, nothing has been trimmed back on the way to the bottle.
Orchard apple and honey open bright against all that age, sweeter than you might expect from a whiskey this old. Dark cherry runs underneath, and vanilla softens the edges before leather and tobacco take hold. Mature oak carries the finish long and dry, with the tannin you earn only from time in wood rather than from heavy char.
Cask strength means it arrives undiluted, so it drinks best slowly and in a small pour. Each barrel is bottled on its own terms, which makes one 750 mL bottle its own particular expression of the same whiskey.
