The bourbon was sourced in Kentucky, aged 15 years in one new charred American oak barrel, and bottled unfiltered at cask strength. Augusta has described the source only as the Bardstown area. Fifteen years in that barrel is what you taste as brown sugar, cedar, tobacco, and leather.
Brown sugar, caramel, and vanilla open into baking spice and clove. Oak, tobacco, and leather lengthen a perfumed finish, and the sweetness stays with the drier wood.
