Orchard fruit leads — ripe pear and apple with a thread of citrus running through it — followed by vanilla that softens the edges. Underneath sits a waxy, faintly oily texture that gives the whisky real weight on the tongue, with toasted nuts and a warm turn of spice on the close.
This is a blended Scotch drawn from more than one region, matured in refill hogsheads, first-fill bourbon barrels and a sherry butt. That combination shows: the bourbon wood accounts for the sweeter, vanilla-forward side, while the sherry lends the darker, nuttier notes toward the end.
Bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV), it has enough strength to stand up to ice without going flat, and enough polish to drink neat after dinner. The 2020 release comes in a 750 mL bottle, and it is the kind of Scotch that earns a permanent spot on the shelf rather than being saved for occasions.
