Guerrero del Sol Añejo Tequila
A year in oak barrels is enough to round the edges off Blue Weber agave without burying it. This Jalisco añejo comes out amber and soft-textured, the kind of tequila that still tastes like the plant it came from.
Butterscotch leads, warm and a little sweet, with ripe fig sitting just behind it. Cooked agave runs underneath the whole pour, keeping things savory where a lesser añejo would turn syrupy. Cinnamon flickers through, and the finish leans darker: chocolate and a clean line of vanilla and oak that fades slowly.
At 80 proof (40% ABV) it drinks easily without going thin, comfortable in a rocks glass on a weeknight and good enough to bring out when there's something to mark. The 750 mL bottle is a sensible one to keep on the shelf rather than save for later.
