This is a straightforward, easygoing bourbon. Seven years in ex-bourbon barrels have softened it without stripping out the grain character, and at 80 proof it drinks gently from the first sip.
Caramel and vanilla lead, sweet but not sugary, with toasted coconut sitting just behind them. Baking spice keeps the sweetness in check, and the finish leans on oak and dried fruit, which is where the seven years show most clearly. The texture is light rather than thick, so it takes ice well and mixes cleanly into an old fashioned or a highball without disappearing.
