High West A Midwinter Night’s Dram Straight Rye Whiskey is the Park City distillery’s annual limited rye: Rendezvous Rye—MGP 95/5 and High West’s own 80/20 malted rye—finished in Port barrels and bottled at 98.6 proof (49.3% ABV). Port is what turns the spice into plum pudding: dark fruit over cinnamon and vanilla, with French oak toast on many years of the series. Pour it on a cold night beside a fire.
Black cherry, fig, and plum lead, then vanilla, caramel, and cinnamon. The rye spice stays in view through a syrupy middle, and the finish is long, spiced, and dried-fruit sweet.
