Indri Diwali Collector's Edition 2024 Indian Single Malt Whisky is the annual limited Diwali bottling from Piccadily's malt distillery in Indri, Haryana. Peated six-row Indian barley is distilled in traditional copper pot stills, then filled into a hand-selected sherry cask and left in the hot northern plains, where evaporation concentrates dates and raisins against a thread of peat. Bottled at 117 proof, non-chill-filtered, with no added color. Save it for an after-dinner dram.
Dried dates and raisins sit in the middle, with caramel and a wet-earth note from the peat. Cinnamon, dark plum, and black cherry ride the sip, and the chewable, full body keeps malt, oak tannin, and a sweet-salty close in the same glass. The smoke is present but folded into the sherry fruit rather than standing apart.
