Neat is the easiest way in. At 97 proof (48.5% ABV), it has enough weight to sit on ice through a long evening without washing out, and it mixes cleanly into an old fashioned if that is the mood. Dry fig and raisin lead, with butterscotch underneath softening the edges. Tobacco and a dusting of spice arrive late, and the oak lingers longer than the fruit does.
This is Tennessee whiskey in the traditional sense: mellowed through maple charcoal before it ever meets a barrel, then aged in new charred American oak. Ten years is a long stretch for whiskey in that kind of wood, and it shows in the darker, drier side of the profile rather than in any harshness.
