Jack Daniel’s 14 Year Old Tennessee Whiskey
Jack Daniel's 14 Year Old Tennessee Whiskey is a limited annual Aged Series release, the oldest modern age statement from Lynchburg in more than a century. The mash of 80 percent corn, 12 percent malted barley, and 8 percent rye is mellowed through 10 feet of sugar maple charcoal, then aged fourteen years in new charred oak: barrels start on the hottest upper floors and are lowered around year eight so the extra time can deepen butterscotch and leather. Bottled at batch proof. Save it for a cold night.
Cinnamon, creamy butterscotch, and molasses open the sip, then rich leather, tobacco, and aged oak. Cherry and brown sugar keep a little sweetness in play while the finish turns dry, peppery, and long. The body is viscous enough to carry the undiluted strength without turning the drink into heat alone.
