Jack Daniel’s Twice Barreled American Single Malt Whiskey
Jack Daniel’s Twice Barreled American Single Malt Whiskey is the distillery’s first 100% malted-barley whiskey: charcoal-mellowed, aged at least four years in new charred American oak, then finished about two years in first-fill Spanish Oloroso sherry casks from the Antonio Paez Lobato cooperage. The 2022 Special Release is limited and bottled at cask strength, about 106.1 to 107.8 proof, so the sherry wood reads as berries, cocoa, and dried fruit instead of a wine glaze. Keep it on the table for sipping with friends.
Soft oak, red berries, and cocoa meet caramel, vanilla, and chocolate-covered nuts. The sip is chewy and malt-led — cherry, honey, and a doughy sherry sweetness — with peppercorn and light char underneath. The finish runs toasted malt, dry fruit, and lingering sherry heat. It drinks richer than the proof suggests, a full American malt with a clear Oloroso close.
