Blue Label is built from malt and grain whiskies drawn across Scotland and matured in oak, married together for a texture that feels thick and silky rather than sharp. At 80 proof (40% ABV), it lands soft on the tongue and stays there, which is much of its appeal.
Honey comes through early, warm and unmistakable, with dried fruit sitting just underneath it. Hazelnut and dark chocolate give the whisky its weight, and a trace of smoke drifts in near the end alongside a gentle spice that fades slowly. Nothing pushes too hard; the pieces fit.
This 2023 release carries the Year of the Rabbit design on the 750 mL bottle. It drinks well neat, though a single large cube opens the honey and nut notes without washing them out. A blended Scotch for evenings when you want something considered but not complicated.
