Un-chill-filtered. The rare oak is what you taste as incense, sandalwood, and vanilla cream rather than a heavy char. Keep it for a spirit-forward cocktail.
Ground spice, vanilla sponge, honey, and brown sugar open into pastry, egg custard, and allspice, then a wave of vanilla cream. Whisky Advocate scored this bottling 92 and ranked it among 2019's Top 20. The finish is long: vanilla cream against fading spice, with a mizunara incense that hangs.
