Kentucky Peerless High Rye Bourbon Whiskey is the first Peerless bourbon on a new mashbill: still corn at the core, with more rye in the grain so pepper, sweet spice, and drier, darker depth take the glass. Sweet-mashed, double-distilled on the Vendome, aged in new Kelvin oak, and bottled at barrel proof with no water added — launch bottles sat at 110.5 proof. It took the IWSC Bourbon Trophy in 2024. This is a cold-weather pour.
Seasoned oak and leather open with charred orange and toasted sugar. Dried fig and raisin sit under rye spice, and black tea keeps the sweetness from turning heavy. The mouthfeel is thick and chewy; the finish is dry, with tobacco and lingering spice.
