Kilkerran 8 Year Old Cask Strength Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky is Glengyle's annual limited 8-year, bottled undiluted from a single cask type — usually bourbon, some years sherry or port — so the lightly peated spirit stays oily and coastal. It is non-chill filtered and natural color, a 700 mL Campbeltown malt meant to be taken at barrel strength. Open it on a cold night.
Citrus and salt hit first, with green apple and lemon over an oily, mineral sip. Light peat and soot sit in the middle, then vanilla and sweet dough. The finish is long and chalky: brine, white pepper, and a lingering maritime smoke.
