Matured for 11 years in first-fill bourbon barrels, this Islay Scotch brings peat smoke and honeyed apple together from the start. The smoky side is direct, while the fruit lends a gently sweet counterpoint. The result is easy to follow, with classic island character balanced by a friendlier fruit note rather than buried beneath the peat.
Vanilla custard gives the palate a rounded dessert quality before sugared coffee closes things out with darker sweetness. At 86 proof (43% ABV), the whisky keeps those contrasting flavors clearly in view. This 750 mL release can be served neat to emphasize its sweet and smoky sides, or over a large cube for a cooler, slower pour. The finish leaves the roast-like coffee note alongside the remaining peat.
