Lagavulin Offerman Edition 11 Year Old Caribbean Rum Cask Finish Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a limited collaboration with Nick Offerman: eleven years in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, then more than eight months in Caribbean rum wood, bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV) at Lagavulin, Islay, Scotland. The rum casks are why lemon meringue, honey, and toffee ride with the peat and brine. Pour it neat after dinner when citrus and smoke sound right.

Lemon meringue, honey, vanilla, and toffee meet maritime brine and golden cinnamon. The palate is creamy, then smokier, with cracked pepper and salted citrus; the finish is long, chili-tinged, smoky, and fruity.
