Lagavulin's Offerman Edition is an Islay single malt, and Islay malts tend to run bold: coastal, mineral, built on smoke and salt rather than sweetness. This one leans somewhere else. Passion fruit comes through bright and tropical, with citrus keeping it lively rather than syrupy.

Underneath that, vanilla softens the edges, and a light sugarcane sweetness runs through to the close. It drinks easily at 60 proof (30% ABV), lighter on the tongue than most single malts and less demanding of your attention. That makes it a straightforward pour on a weeknight, no ceremony required.

The 750 mL bottle is a reasonable place to start if you have been curious about Islay but wary of its reputation for intensity. Serve it neat, or over a single large cube if you want the fruit to stretch out.
