Lagavulin Offerman Edition 11 Year Old Guinness Cask Finish Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a limited 11-year Islay malt finished four months in former Guinness casks from the Open Gate Brewery in Maryland, bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV). Nick Offerman and his father chose the beer wood so roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and caramel would meet Lagavulin peat. An after-dinner pour when chocolate and smoke belong together.
Sweet peat, sea air, and a hint of stout sit over caramel, vanilla, and dark chocolate. The palate is creamy—coffee, chocolate malt, and restrained smoke—then a moderately long finish of sea salt, pepper, and peat.
