Laphroaig Quarter Cask Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the core south-shore malt given a second rest in 125-litre American oak quarter casks after first filling in ex-bourbon barrels. The smaller casks mean more wood contact, which is what you taste as coconut, banana, and vanilla beside the peat. Bottled at 96 proof (48% ABV) and barrier filtered so the small-cask character stays in the glass. This is a weeknight pour with real smoke.
Smouldering peat, coconut, and banana lead, with vanilla and a gentle sweetness on a deep, smoky palate. The finish is long and drying — smoke, spice, and a little tropical roundness. It drinks lively and velvety at 96 proof, peat-forward without shutting out the fruit.
