Longrow Peated Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky

This is a peated whisky that keeps its smoke friendly. Longrow comes from Campbeltown, a small coastal pocket of Scotland whose whiskies tend to carry salt air alongside the malt, and this one is no exception. Peat smoke leads, but it sits close to vanilla rather than smothering it, and there is a squeeze of citrus running underneath that keeps the whole thing bright.

Ex-bourbon casks account for much of the softness here. The texture is round, the malt sweetness stays legible through the smoke, and charred oak firms up the finish without turning bitter. A saline edge lingers at the end, which is the Campbeltown signature more than anything else.

Bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV) in a 700 mL bottle, it has enough weight to drink neat and enough clarity to work in a highball if you want the smoke stretched out. A good everyday peated single malt for someone who does not want to think too hard about it.
