Maker’s Mark Star Hill Farm Whisky 2026 Cask Strength American Wheat Whisky
Wheat whisky is a small corner of the American whiskey world, and this Kentucky bottling shows why it deserves more attention. Where corn brings sweetness and rye brings bite, wheat gives a softer, rounder grain character, and seven years in new charred American oak have wrapped that softness in real structure.
Molasses leads, dark and a little sticky, with fig sitting just behind it. Underneath there is something brighter — citrus and ripe pear that keep the whole thing from turning heavy. The texture is buttery, closer to shortbread than to caramel, and the finish turns warm with cinnamon and toasted oak.
Bottled at cask strength, 116.4 proof (58.2% ABV), so it arrives undiluted from the barrel with all its weight intact. A few drops of water open the orchard fruit noticeably. 750 mL.
