Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series 2020 Limited Release SE4 x PR5 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series 2020 Limited Release SE4 x PR5 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series 2020 Limited Release SE4 x PR5 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is the 2020 limited Wood Finishing Series from Loretto, Kentucky. Fully matured Maker’s is finished with two stave recipes used together: SE4 virgin French oak (medium convection toast for caramel) and PR5 virgin American oak (slow, low-heat toast for vanilla), then bottled at cask strength, 110.8 proof (55.4% ABV). Keep it for a dessert-hour sip when butter pecan should last.
Vanilla and buttery caramel open broad and creamy, with baking spice and jammy fruit standing out on the palate. Butter pecan rides the middle; the mouthfeel is oily, and the finish is long, round, and dry, with toasted oak holding the sweetness.
