The 2020 Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series SE4 x PR5 release was finished in secondary barrels with SE4 virgin French oak and PR5 virgin American oak staves. These finishing woods shape a profile that leans toward dessert-like sweetness balanced by spice.
Bottled at cask strength, the whiskey carries 110.8 proof (55.4% ABV) with plenty of intensity. Vanilla and buttery caramel give the palate a broad, rounded feel, while baking spice keeps the sweetness in check. Butter pecan closes with a soft, nutty impression. It can be poured neat or served over a large cube, depending on how much strength you prefer in the pour. This release comes in a 750 mL size.
