Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series 2025 The Keepers Release Bourbon Whiskey is a limited Loretto bottling for the warehouse crew who still hand-rotate every barrel. Fully mature cask-strength Maker’s — typically six to seven years — is finished with 10 toasted American oak staves per barrel: half the lot for five weeks on one stave type, half for nine weeks on another, then blended 50/50 and bottled at 109.2 proof (54.6% ABV). The split finish is what you taste as both brighter wood sugar and deeper toasted oak. Pour it when friends are over.
Seasoned oak, brûléed sugar, and tobacco lead, with toasted oak and roasted sweetness on a long, enveloping sip. Dried dark fruit, cherry, orange peel, and cinnamon keep it rich rather than simple, and the finish hangs on dried fruit, vanilla, and a hint of smoked maple.
