Midleton Very Rare 2022 Vintage Release Irish Whiskey is the 39th limited vintage from Midleton Distillery in County Cork, Ireland: pot still and grain whiskey aged 12 to 33 years in lightly charred first- and second-fill ex-bourbon American oak. O’Gorman kept grain generous and pulled extra fruit from 2009–11 pot still. Bottled at 80 proof. Open it with company.
Mandarin and candied apple lead, with hazelnut chocolate, toffee, and vanilla standing out on the palate. Caramelised red apple and orange zest meet crème brûlée and pot-still spice. The mouthfeel is lush and dessert-like; toasted wood and cereal linger on a long close.
