Nectarine and green apple lead the way here, bright and juicy, with apricot sitting just underneath. Ginger warms the second half, and a peppercorn edge keeps the fruit from turning soft. The finish leans darker than the start: coffee and candied orange, lingering well past the last sip.
This is a County Cork whiskey built from stock aged between 12 and 33 years, all of it drawn from lightly charred ex-bourbon American oak casks. That gentle char shapes the whiskey rather than dominating it, letting the orchard fruit stay forward while the older components lend weight and depth through the back palate.
At 80 proof (40% ABV), it drinks easily neat and needs nothing added. The 750 mL bottle earns a place on the shelf you reach for when the evening warrants something better than usual, and it holds up just as well shared as it does poured quietly on its own.
