New Riff Red Turkey Wheat Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is Newport, Kentucky's bottled-in-bond wheater built on heirloom Red Turkey wheat, a 19th-century Midwest grain grown for flavor rather than yield. The mash is 70% corn, 25% Red Turkey wheat, and 5% malted barley, aged at least five years in new charred American oak and bottled at 100 proof without chill filtration. That wheat is why orange marmalade, warm bread, and a zesty citrus lift stand out on the palate. First released in 2021 and brought back in a wider 2025 bottling, it is still a special heirloom-grain whiskey. Pour it when you are sipping with friends.
Orange marmalade, cotton candy, and warm bread open the sip, then clove-studded citrus, praline, and dark stewed fruit. The mouthfeel is chewy and moderately sweet. Black cherry skin, nutty grain, and bright citrus linger on a long finish.
