Old Fitzgerald 11 Year Old Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey 100 Proof is the Spring 2018 inaugural Decanter Series bottle: Heaven Hill wheated bourbon distilled at Bernheim from February through May 2006, aged eleven years, and bottled in bond at 100 proof. Whisky Advocate gave it 93 and named it an Editors' Choice. This is a slow pour with friends.
Apple, pear, dried apricot, and peach open onto caramel, vanilla custard, and honey. Roasted almond, walnut, and pecan sit through a creamy sip, with cinnamon and a little cocoa. The finish is long and sweet, with cherry-spice and fudge hanging on.
