The first impression is sweet and thick — honey and butterscotch, the kind of weight that coats rather than flashes. Underneath, orchard and dried fruit do the interesting work: plum and peach up front, fig sitting deeper and darker. Leather turns the whiskey drier as it goes, and seasoned oak with baking spice sees it out long after the sweetness has faded.
Fifty percent alcohol gives it real presence without heat that gets in the way, which makes this an easy bourbon to pour on a Tuesday and just as easy to bring out when someone worth impressing is sitting across the table. Comes in a 750 mL bottle.
